Workers' Compensation: $145,000 Recovery For Shoulder Injury
Krissy sustained a shoulder injury while working as a delivery driver in York, South Carolina. Another attorney referred Krissy to our firm as I also handle South Carolina workers' compensation and personal injury cases.
We obtained the proper medical treatment for Krissy's shoulder injury, which went rather smoothly. Unfortunately, she sustained an injury to her elbow during physical therapy for the shoulder injury. The insurance company denied responsibility for this second injury, and I had to fight to protect Krissy's right to medical treatment and monetary compensation for such. In doing so, I carefully gathered physical therapy notes in an attempt to document her injury. I also secured an audio recording of a physical therapist admitting the injury, which served as a great negotiation tool and potential trial exhibit. I further obtained expert medical opinions to bolster our client's position.
The insurance company utilized a very experienced attorney to defend the claim. I carefully prepared our client's case, and we presented a solid argument to the Defendants over the course of extended negotiations. I ultimately recovered $145,000 of additional compensation for Krissy. This resolution allowed Krissy the ability to re-assess her situation, and determine exactly how she wanted to proceed in the future. I'm proud to say she is doing fantastic.
