Personal Injury: $55,000 Auto Accident Recovery

January 2014

Jack sustained a non-surgical back injury in an auto accident.  This case presented several key challenges.  First, the accident occurred in a parking lot.  When the extent of property damage is low, insurance companies mount a strong defense.  The Defendants particularly argue this point in cases where medical expenses rise.  Our second issue occurred as Jack encountered complications with his medical treatment.  While the physicians determined his injuries did not require surgery, he continued to require medical care.  As a result, his medical expenses increased.

I have experience as defense counsel for insurance companies.  This experience allows a first-hand understanding of their claims process: how they administer claims, evaluate claims, etc.  I have also represented injured people for numerous years, utilizing this knowledge to my clients' advantage.  I explained the claims process to Jack.  I explained the various arguments I anticipated from the Defendants.  I also explained how we would combat those arguments.  To Jack's credit, he applied my instructions well.

We aggressively pursued Jack's case.  We had to file suit and argue extensively with the Defendants, but we ultimately recovered $55,000 for Jack.  Given the various factors in Jack's case, this was a phenomenal victory.
