Workers' Compensation: $95,000 Recovery For Back Injury
Lisa sustained a non-surgical back injury working as a salesperson in Concord, North Carolina. This case was complicated by two primary factors: (a) our client has a pre-existing back condition that complicated her medical treatment and the legal arguments regarding the compensability of such, and (b) while serious and very painful, the physicians could not address Lisa's injury surgically.
Insurance companies fight this type of claim very aggressively. Lisa's case was no exception. Simply stated, adjusters hate paying proper compensation for significant injuries that do not require surgery. However, we work quite hard to protect our clients. I fought to ensure Lisa received the proper benefits under the North Carolina workers' compensation law to address her injury. We subsequently recovered an additional $95,000 for our client.
