Aiding And Abetting Driving While Impaired

October 2015

Johnny was charged with Aiding And Abetting Driving While Impaired in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a confusing and frustrating charge. While the charge can result for a variety of reasons, I often see this charge result when my client is the registered owner of the vehicle operated and / or is a passenger of the individual charged with DWI.

The primary complication for this charge is that a conviction has similar consequences to a DWI. For instance, a conviction to this charge results in a one-year suspension from the North Carolina DMV.

I addressed Johnny's case appropriately.  I investigated the matter and reviewed the appropriate documentation to prepare his defense.  We monitored the underlying DWI case.  I ultimately secured a dismissal of Johnny's charge, which avoided any consequences for our client.
