Driving After Consuming Alcohol Under 21
Dennis was charged with Driving After Consuming Alcohol Under 21 in Charlotte, North Carolina after encountering a DWI checkpoint. As I obtained / analyzed the evidence for Dennis' case, it became clear the District Attorney could easily establish this charge. Our client's prior criminal history further complicated matters. However, a successful attorney understands that you must work to improve a client's position regardless of the scenario.
I continued to examine the evidence. Dennis and I discuss his case. I explained his options, detailing not only my suggestions, but more importantly my reasoning. I made sure Dennis understood, so he could make an educated choice.
Dennis elected to entere a plea in his case. He chose such a path strategically, and we prepared accordingly. When the time came, we were ready. We got the desire result. I requested a Prayer For Judgment Continued (PJC), and the Court granted such. This result avoided the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles' (NCDMV) one-year suspension of Dennis' license. He also paid minimal court costs.
I was very pleased with this result. We were able to manage several obstacles in Dennis' case, and ultimately obtain a very good result.
