Charlotte workers have two primary choices for governor in the upcoming election. They can vote for Walter Dalton or Pat McRory. I am a Charlotte workers' compensation lawyer; I represent people injured on the job. I don't hide that fact; I'm proud of it.
As a resident of Charlotte, I'm familiar with Mr. McCrory. One of my primary concerns with Pat McCrory is that he has made it abundantly clear his votes are bought / paid for by the large businesses that support him. Mr. McCrory is clear that he has every intention of setting forth the agendas of large corporations at the expense of the rights of his constituents.
A simple example: At a recent event, Mr. McCrory held up the North Carolina and Tennessee workers' compensation laws. He stated to the crowd the that NC law was much thicker; arguing his point the NC law needed additional "reforms" in addition to those that occurred last year. Mr. McCrory failed to advise the crowd that the N.C. book has significant "casenotes" regarding the statutes for attorneys to utilize. The TN book has no such casenotes, which equate to a significant portion of the book. The NC book also has larger font.
Some would argue Mr. McCrory simply made a mistake. Others would argue he is uninformed. I've watched Mr. McCrory in Charlotte for years. I find him to be quite arrogant and methodical. I also think he happened to be lying during his recent speech. I further think injured North Carolina workers should expect more of the same. My thoughts are not about political affiliation. My concerns are for your rights. I feel we as citizens have to utilize our votes carefully. Think before you vote; make a good choice for you and your family.
